Real Wedding: New York Public Library Glamorous Nuptials

The brides, Lauren and Emily, were absolutely radiant as they celebrated their love with an intimate wedding and a glamorous reception. While keeping their wedding tasteful and personal, the couple made sure to let their overarching concept of “modern meets traditional” shine through, evident through photography by Roey Yohai. Their invitation included a classy fan motif inspired by the cover art of an F. Scott Fitzgerald novel and gold foil-embossed lettering. To celebrate their Jewish heritage, they first held a private ceremony to sign their kebutah, or wedding contract, edited so that traditional concepts of husband-and-wife could instead speak more to their modern, same-sex marriage. Later, with a party overflowing with both glam and grand, they rounded up the day’s events at the New York Public Library with a fabulous reception featuring exquisite jewel-toned florals and exotic lighting! They expressed their gratitude for the love and support showered upon them by friends and family to help them celebrate “the most important day of [their] lives”!

Thanks and cheers to all vendors on the team for such a successful evening! We can’t wait for another opportunity to work together!

Real Wedding Wednesday: Downtown D.C. Modern Metallic Mix

Katie and Steve wanted a wedding of contemporary feels while at the same time highlighting the historical significance of a city they both grew up around – and so, with each endearing moment captured Abby Jiu Photography, the pair celebrated this special day at Potomac View Terrace at the American Pharmacist Association. Here, with its beautiful rooftop and historic facade, the couple donned an artfully arranged palette of gold and rose gold with brilliant berry hues, all juxtaposed against stark blacks. As an added voice to their originality, a traditional string quartet serenaded the pair with some of their favorite Kanye West hits, while exquisite edibles of mid-Atlantic and Southern origins later surrounded the people’s senses. Bedecked with floral-tipped terrariums through and through, this wedding was truly a modern visual masterpiece!

We would like to give a big shout-out to our team of vendors, as none of this could have been possible without your tasteful contributions! And to our lovely bride and groom, may this day set the basis of bright aesthetics for the future!

Real Wedding Wednesday: Old Town Alexandria Enchanted Woodland Espousal

While our bride looked stunning and chic in a gown of simple garnishment, a face of fresh makeup, and hair crowned with a thin, vine-like golden headpiece, her groom complimented her expertly in a clean-cut, navy suit. Melissa and Bogdan decided they would celebrate their union in the very heart of Old Town Alexandria at Virtue Feed & Grain. For the wedding, the couple had decided to throw in a bit of their own magic to the woodsy, historical ambience of the local restaurant and bar, bedecking the tables with forest foliage and white floral centerpieces. Recurring appearances of geometric terrariums lent an industrial edge to the rustic atmosphere while concise designs revealed the modernity present in their signage and stationary. This bride and groom certainly knew how to run their own distinct style! Last but not least, we want to send our thanks to Andrea Rodway Photography and the other vendors of this team for lending their talents and resources in capturing all the enchanting moments of Melissa and Bogdan’s special day!

We loved their unique taste and simple choice of setting! Here’s to our happy couple – may you reap a life of continuous merriment!

Confessions of a Customer

Paper is our passion, but we can’t create pretty paper without our customers! Their celebrations inspire us, and we live for their love stories. That’s why it means so much to us when customers take the time to share their experiences with The Dandelion Patch, even after the party is over! One of our beautiful brides, Leila Sidawy, was kind enough to send us these words, and we couldn’t help but share them:

“The Dandelion Patch’s quality and service live up to your first impression. The Patchettes are an absolute delight and are extremely accommodating. My mom and I only had a faint idea of what we were looking for, so they really walked us through the process and the selections for customized collateral in-house products to coordinate with our gorgeous invitations we’d selected earlier in the process. We worked together to design escort cards, hashtag signs, the  dinner menu, and table numbers. Pure elegance! The Dandelion Patch design team is extremely talented.

I am as big of an online shopper as the next person, but for something as important as my wedding day, I knew I wanted personalized attention from a local boutique–and I recommend you do the same and work with The Dandelion Patch.

Thank you for everything you did for us!”

-Leila Sidawy

Leila’s wedding was so glamorous, and we loved seeing how her pretty paper fit the big day. Thank you Leila for letting us share your stunning wedding photos!
