Food and Drink

When I’m planning a party, I like to start with the good stuff: the treats! There are plenty of fun ways to bring in the fall season as well as some creepy concoctions. For a taste of fall try apple cider from an apple with raisin and cinnamon garnish or adult pumpkin pie infused with rum! On the spooky side, try bloody shirley temples equipped with a shot from a plastic syringe or pretzel fingers made with pretzel rods dipped in chocolate and topped with an almond sliver as the fingernail!

Small touches can go a long way. Make each guest feel in the Halloween spirit with place cards also acting as an obituary and drinks with eerie tags such as the scull labels shown above.

Traditionally, Halloween decor is black and orange but stray from the conventional a bit and tone the orange down a little using it only as an accent keeping the pallet neutral but rich in pattern and antique textures.
