How to: Personalize Your Classic White Bouquet

Bouquets are one of those wedding essentials that typically get at least one photo feature all by themselves, so we deem it a pretty important visual element. The classic greenery-and-white elegance motif continues to trend as a popular motif for many lucky couples’ weddings, with their breath of fresh simplicity and quiet charm. Not only so, we also find it lovable as a flexible floral palette, as it is able to retain its delightful qualities while graciously integrating other characteristics that are brought in as a result of adjustments made to the original arrangement. Below are a few sample bouquets we’ve collected to show what we mean by this flexibility. It’s truly a wonder just how much voice and personality the classic bouquet can come to embody with the most subtle of manipulations!

Featured Below: Ruffled

Mix-‘n-matching is a great place to start! A generous blend of white blooms and greenery and can say a number of things about your wedding, depending on the type of florals and foliage you select as well as the balance of color tones!

Featured Below: Grey Likes Weddings

To all our gorgeous gals out there prepping for a winter wedding – nothing says “winter” more than sparse scatterings of berry clusters! And white roses are simply too romantic!

Featured Below: Southern California Bride

As we had mentioned earlier, you’d be surprised at how well subtle adjustments to the white bouquet speak to specific environments or event atmospheres. Faint washes of blush or peach are the ultimate bouquet to an elegant winery or vineyard wedding!

Featured Below: Style Me Pretty

Single-bloom collections make excellent wedding bouquets as well! Sometimes it’s better to embrace the minimalism – that alone sets you apart!

Featured Below: MODwedding

While we’re on the topic of single-bloom bouquets, this one is made up of the baby’s-breath plant (sometimes interchangeably described as its scientific genus name “gypsophila”). Compared to the previous bouquet of peonies, we felt as if this one spoke a completely different language. What are your thoughts?

Feature Below: Wedding Wire

But if you’re feeling a bit tight and smushed from all the subtlety we’ve been advocating, know that it’s also okay to take things a (small) step further and mix in a single bold color. For the winter season we recommend burgundy or wine for the serious “pop” effect in your otherwise classic white bouquet!

Let your blooms inspire a palette for the rest of the visuals for your celebration! We would love to work with you to create your stationary aesthetic! (For references of our work, be sure to check out our pretty paper gallery on FacebookInstagram, and Twitter!) The end product will be simply stunning – we can’t wait to see it come to life!

Flower Crowns for the Non-Bride

Flower crowns have remained a favorite among bridal hair accessories as boho trends continue to trickle through the wedding community. Typically, one would expect the bride to wear it down the aisle, as the bright blooms work to be quite attention-grabbing. Today’s post, however, brings consideration to the inverse: what would happen if other featured guests at your celebration had the opportunity to flaunt their own set of fragrant floral circlets upon their heads as well?

Featured Below: Ruffled

No one will be able to direct their gazes elsewhere when this little darling steps out in a crown of rosy blooms!

Featured Below: Style Me Pretty

Make that TWO little darlings! Matching florals will have hearts melting in no time!

The more, the merrier!

Featured Below: Style Me Pretty

You’ll be the one in white, alright – experiment with brighter colors, and you’ll find that it does nothing to detract attention from yourself!

“…anyone can be a princess today,” declared Mia Thermopolis of the Princess Die. Well, guess what, grandmothers – so can you!

Mommy & Me flower crowns? Excellent idea!

Consider applying your floral palette to your selection of pretty paper, or vice-versa! We’d love to work with you to coordinate the colors! In the meantime, follow The Dandelion Patch on our FacebookInstagram, and Twitter to check out our galleries or receive regular samples of our work!

Keep reading to see a sampling of  variations in bow size, shape, color, and location on your next bow-adorned dress!

Doting on Dots, Part Two: People & Parties

But they also work in Boho, beach-themed celebrations! This time, don’t hesitate to deck out in dots from head-to-toe!

Not too plain, not too fancy – what a way to subtly show off your exquisite taste!

OR even consider donning a pair of adorably spunky socks down that aisle! Pair it with  pattern-less white shoes for a perfect balance!

Featured Below: Rustic Wedding Chic

Let’s talk hair accessories! Try out a short, dotted veil for a more non-traditional presentation! We think this blusher veil would be especially fitting for a country or rustic-edged wedding!

 Featured Below: Wedding Chicks

Swiss dots have a magical ability to mix n’ match with many other patterned material, such as the floral swirl patches at the edges of this fingertip-length veil.

Surely after all this, you must want to give this texture a try! Don’t just limit your options to decor and wedding wear – consider applying them to your paper goods? You tell us what you want, and we’ll work with you to produce some gorgeous invitations in preparation for your gorgeous wedding! Be sure to follow The Dandelion Patch on FacebookInstagram, and Twitter!

Doting on Dots, Part One: Cakes & Bakes

Not just any dots, now – here we’re specifically talking Swiss dots, as in the cute, teeny-tiny ones that settle adorably against its a constant background. The “dotted Swiss” (coined to describe tiny raised dots against transparent tulle material) patterning has hung around since the 19th century, but has, since then, expanded beyond its original fabric definition. Its widespread involvement in the wedding industry has brought about the application of this texture on wedding dessert too, making cakes look absolutely darling! Due to the general popularity of this look, we’ve decided to divide the topic into two separate blogs, with part two coming on Friday!

Section them out with zigzags to create “nice negative space”, an art professors might critique.

Flatter, smaller, much more accessible – a form that’s all the better to eat ’em in!

Featured Below: Life With Mar

Traditionally, Swiss dots come white on white, but there’s no harm in playing around with some brighter hues and values!

Featured Below: Style Me Pretty

Or, use the dots as a coordinating agent when it comes to cake design!

Featured Below: The Cake Blog

What a neon surprise! Flourescent dots certainly add a “zing” to the cake!

Mini-cakes should adopt the Swiss dot concept too!

Trend Alert: A Veiled Floral Frenzy

If you asked a child to draw a bride, they’ll most likely sketch out the white wedding dress, perhaps some pretty shoes and maybe even the figure holding a bouquet of sorts, but he or she will almost always remember the wedding veil. Despite its curious origins (you’ll have to look that one up yourself!) the veil remains an essential piece of wedding attire, and, like all other worn pieces in the entire bridal composition, it has a rich history with the fashion industry. That being said, the traditional veil has evolved into various modified versions of itself, with a plethora of accessories and/or embellishments to add individual statements. With rising trends in floral-embellished veils, we’ve collected a few of our favorites here for inspiration!

Featured Below: Twigs & Honey

Three-dimensional floral embellishments such as the ones on this mantilla veil will certainly capture the attention of all every single person the moment you step foot into the ceremony!

Featured Below: Ruffled

Simple floral lace-patches add the perfect amount of grace and charm to the look!

Featured Below: Instagram

Gold accents will pair fabulously with both the white of the bride’s dress and the black of the groom’s!

Featured Below: InStyle

This ballet (or waltz) length veil seems to wrap the bride up in a botanical flurry with its border patch-embellishments as if exalting the surrounded figure as the single most beautiful rose in the garden.

Featured Below: BHLDN

Although the border floral decorations are harder to see on a chapel-length veil, it’ll pair nicely with a dress with a more detailed bust.

Featured Below: Tumblr

What a clever design! Wearing a cathedral-length veil like this will appear as if gold roses are floating behind you as you glide flawlessly down that aisle!

Featured Below: Tumblr

Don’t be afraid to go all-out if your outfit calls for it, or if you are simply finding yourself helplessly desiring a cape of flowers! ‘Cause how fun would that be?
