Friday: Up Up and Away

Happy Friday everyone! We are very excited for the weekend and we hope you all are too! While I was driving to work the other day and I saw a hot air balloon. I thought to myself I wonder how many people incorporate those into their wedding or just balloons in general. A lot of couples use greenery or flowers but using balloons for decorating or for Save the Dates are becoming more popular.

Everyone is obsessing over the big balloons, they are perfect for save the dates!

If you want to add texture to the balloon and for the photo, tie ribbons to it like these girls did! It definitely makes it fun too!

Have balloons made with Mr. and Mrs. on them for photos, then you guests can use them as props for photos throughout the night!

Leaf stamped balloons are super cute! They give off a boho trend and the clear balloon is to die for!

Clear balloons are pretty popular, they now are used for save the dates and other design elements.

If you really want to have a balloon aspect, have a hot air balloon!

Everyones wedding is different and we love seeing what each couple does! We hope that couples keep doing more original design elements to truly make their wedding their own!

Trend Alert: Translucent Touches!

New trends are popping up everywhere after the 2017 weddings finally came to a close.  One of the trends that we are most excited about are the acrylic pieces! Anything from the invitations, clear tents, wall to ceiling windows, and clear tables. People want a clear clean design and thats what translucent pieces have to offer.

Everyone wants their invitation to stand out, having a acrylic invitation is definitely a way to do so!

Acrylic bar menus are also another way to make it stand out! The hanging aspect is also a huge plus!

Hanging escort cards are becoming more and more popular, but adding the acrylic aspect is definitely going to be on trend!

The added modern look with the classic gold calligraphy is a stunning look!

Table numbers can be another place where acrylic is displayed. Add flowers or other textured object behind it so it will add depth to your centerpiece!

A display box for the acrylic is something special, it make an already beautiful invitation stand out even more!

Acrylic tents are also becoming more and more popular, they give structure but also let in the night sky and can be decorated with more modern lights.

Acrylic pieces will make your wedding stand out, whether it’s the invitations or a tent it will definitely catch peoples eyes! Be sure to follow us at The Dandelion Patch on FacebookInstagram, and Twitter!

Real Wedding Wednesday: Westbury Manor Ethereal Garden Escapade

Today’s Real Wedding finds us at Westbury Manor in Long Island, New York, where Rachel and Charles (Cap) exchange vows surrounded by sophisticated foliage of the venue’s outdoor garden. Throughout the ceremony, rich shades of greenery juxtapose tastefully with its classical counterpart in white, but not without subtle tweaks to the traditional palette that make this wedding all the more intimate! Additional hues of blush and airy blues leave the couple and loved ones faces fresh and absolutely aglow against the landscape’s outstanding elegance! Of course, none of this would be visible to us without the lovely Cadence Kennedy, who expertly captured moments from this eventful escapade to leave us in silent awe and satisfaction.

We’d like to thank all of our fellow vendors who participated and contributed their expertise to bring this wedding to life! It was great fun working with everyone, and we look forward to future collaborations!

Featured: Grey Likes Musical Romance Inspiration

Working on this inspiration shoot was one of the highlights of our summer, especially with the honor of being featured on Grey Likes Weddings! Any time we get to work with our friendors is such a good time, especially when the product turns out to be this gorgeous! Bonnie Sen Photography and Bright Occasions created the concept of a musically-inspired styled shoot to capture the essence of a romantic summer wedding. Petals by the Shore set the stage for a beautiful backdrop with their choice of lush soft colored blooms. The Patchettes put together this wedding suite with a soft blush watercolor detail and gold lettering with an overall European influence. We can practically hear the piano music now!

We absolutely adored working with this talented group of friendors and can’t wait to make more magic with them in the future!

Real Wedding Wednesday: Claire & Sam

Grace Kelly inspired this glamorous, DC wedding! Ashlee Virginia Events did an amazing job of planning Claire and Sam’s big day, which was a beautiful, black-tie affair. We also loved how The Youngrens captured the day, showing just how spectacular the National Museum of Women can be! Congrats to this lovely couple! It was an honor to design your pretty paper! Trend Alert: Bright Floral Paper!

Trend Alert! A lot is happing in the wedding world, which means new paper trends too! Neutrals have been huge in the last few years. I’m sure we’ve all been to a blush and beige wedding or two. Well, things are spicing up! There’s going to be a lot more color in weddings and paper. This means a lot more pattern, primarily floral, on the invitations itself. Last year, the envelope liners had all the fun! Now, fun-colored florals are taking center stage!

Mitzvah Invitations

At The Dandelion Patch, we love celebrating any and all occasions with pretty paper! For example, our Patchettes create a lot of bat mitzvah and bar mitzvah invitations. We love creating paper for these traditional Jewish celebrations, because we’re able to use fun colors and patterns. It’s also a great opportunity to incorporate a child’s interest like a favorite sport! Below you’ll find a sample of the custom creations that we’ve made for our amazing family of clients. For more ideas, you can check out the full gallery of mitzvah invitations on our website!

Skyline Invitations

Our Patchettes see a lot of wedding invitations over the course of the year. One trend that we’ve really loved this year is “skyline” invitations. Whether it’s a simple skyline or detailed map, these invitations are so personal. Couples have included everything from their wedding venue to where they met. It’s also a sweet reminder of the city where a couple fell in love or plans to start their new life together. We absolutely love this concept! For a closer look at our favorite skyline invitations, check out the skyline gallery on our site.
