Patch Exclusive: Meet Inslee

Two things we absolutely love at The Dandelion Patch are stationery and fashion. So today, we are super excited to introduce you to a good friend of ours, Inslee, from Inslee By Design! Inslee is a fabulously talented fashion illustrator to the stars. And as soon as you see some of her designs – you will be just as obsessed with her work as we are. Not to mention, exclusive to The Dandelion Patch, is some of her boxed stationery that you can shop in stores and here now.

1. How did ‘Inslee’ get started?

I have been illustrating fashion for as long as I can remember – my whole life! My sophomore year of W&L I was inspired by how my new college friends loved seeing my sketches to try to find a way to sell them and share them with more people. I created a few sketches and had them printed on notecards and sent them around to my sorority sisters to spread the word. I believe I started with four original note card designs. I built a website to feature them and sold them online. Over the course of the next few years I began to add more products – including my ever-popular yearly calendar designs and built a following of wonderfully supportive customers. When I graduated from W&L i also began accepting both private commissions and work for companies. I also launched a blog and social media presence to share new art with my followers regularly. I now work full time as an illustrator and love every minute of it!

2. What is your latest obsession?

Trying to find the perfect wedding gown! (and all the other fun things that come with planning a wedding and designing beautiful paper for invites etc.).

3. What is your latest indulgence?

Joining Pure Yoga – an enormous, fancy yoga empire in NYC that offers hundreds of different classes. As a big yoga fan, this is like heaven – with core-work – if you can imagine that.

4. Who is your favorite celebrity that you have illustrated? Why?

I loved illustrating runway model Karlie Kloss. She has the most beautiful, elongated lines of her figure and strikes the most dynamic poses. I fell in love with illustrating her when she was a model for the Oscar de la Renta fashion shows I assisted with as an intern my first year living in NYC.

Where paper and fashion meet you are sure to find the stunning work of Inslee. Don’t forget to check out her stationery here. And also a huge thanks to Inslee from Inslee By Design for taking the time to meet with us!
