Focal Points

Designing a wedding reception is like designing a room in a house. You have to take into consideration the size of the space, the key pieces, the smaller details, the colors, and how they all coordinate with each other.  Often times a room will have a focal point, and a wedding reception is no different! A focal point catches your eye and draws extra attention, therefore it is an item you can splurge a little more on.  Here are some focal points to consider in your reception space:

The Sweetheart Table – This is where the bride and groom will share a meal for the first time as a married couple, so it’s important! Make it a focal point with a super romantic backdrop, floral arrangement, or even fabulous linens.

The Bar – Be creative with your bar and make it eye-catching by using statement pieces of furniture or other materials that coordinate with your overall style.

The Cake – No matter how simple your cake may be, you can make it a focal point by placing it in the center of the room and using a special cake stand or plate.  You can also keep it to the side, but dress it up with a fun backdrop or table linen.

Escort Card Display – There are so many creative ways to display escort cards, so why not make it a focal point! Don’t be afraid to take up space with a large display board or fancy table arrangement. We love this organic, yet geometric ombre look!

The Dance Floor – If you want to be dancing all night, place the dance floor in the center of the space to make it the focal point.  Show it off with unique up lighting, a custom monogram, or eye-catching chandelier!
