This year, encourage each guest to write their name and fondest details of their visit in your book. When the chill is in the air later this year and in years to come, you can curl up and remember those warm seaside summer days all over again.

As a child I have cherished memories of seemingly spontaneous backyard barbecues with what seemed like every family hopping over the fence with something delicious to share. We kids would play badminton or make up some adventure while the parents would hang out on the patio and enjoy the cool night air. We always felt safe hearing their laughter -- it was our community, our neighborhood, our home.

My husband and I have continued that tradition with our own "Hop-The-Fence Parties" with neighbors and friends. I realize now there is bit of planning involved and they're not quite so spontaneous as I'd once thought, but the fun is still there and the laughter can still be heard on those warm summer nights, reminding the neighborhood kids of the warm and loving community that surrounds them.

"I've bought invitations, birth announcements, Christmas cards and gifts - lots of gifts," she says. Visiting The Dandelion Patch is a regular part of her Mom-only time away from Cameron, Brody, Dylan and Aiden, and she's developed a great relationship with the Vienna store team.

"When things are busy at home, I don't even have to stop in. Diana and The Dandelion Patch make it easy for me - they just know what I like. I like to be different, and they cater to that." she adds. "Erica is so creative, and I trust her, so I've approved lots of great ideas via fax."

Jennifer recently purchased summer housewarming gifts for an upcoming visit to her sister's new beach house at The Hamptons on Long Island, where the family is sure to enjoy lots of outdoor picnics. "If I need anything for an occasion or a gift, I think of The Dandelion Patch first."
