The Art of the Thank You Note
  Crane Holiday Thank you Note
Did you know that according to Crane's Blue Book of Etiquette, notes should be sent within two weeks of receiving a gift? We sell tons of personalized stationery for men, women and kids. We offer traditional favorites like Crane's as well as new, contemporary styles from Amy Jennings and Jack and Lulu. Don't forget that your kids need to write thank you notes also! For the tots that haven't yet mastered eloquence, try a Zoomerang fill-in.

Here's a quick rule of thumb: Every gift deserves a Thank You note. Yes, even Aunt Zelda's fruit cake. The following guidelines will help you and yours quickly and easily express their gratitude for the generosity expressed this past holiday season:

  1. Greet the Giver. (Dear Aunt Zelda)
  2. Express Your Gratitude. (Thank you so much for the lovely fruitcake.)
  3. Discuss Use. (It was a delightful addition to our Christmas dessert table.)
  4. Mention the Past, Allude to the Future. (It was so interesting to hear your plans for the new condo in Florida. I sure will miss the old place, but I look forward to visiting you in your new home soon.)
  5. Grace. (Thanks again for the wonderful fruitcake. We're so lucky to have such a fine "secret recipe" in our family that comes back year after year.)
  6. Regards. (Love, Josie)

No Place Like Home
  Home Sign
What a great sentiment, isn't it? Few things ring true like this one -- after all home is where you are raised, where you raise your children, where you learn to live, laugh, love. It is the center of your personal community, your little piece of the neighborhood.

The Dandelion Patch is pleased to offer these signs for your home, and we carry several customized for your community, including Vienna, Oakton, McLean, Fairfax, Great Falls, Reston. They make great housewarming gifts, even if you've lived in your home for years.

Winter Warmer
  Tigo Scarf-all
On these cold nights when it seems to get dark much too early and the wind is whipping, it's the perfect night for Chinese take out.

So call in an order of won ton soup and egg rolls and curl up on the sofa with a Szechuan Scarf knitting kit from Tigo in Green Pepper, Sweet and Sour, Lychee, or Black Bean. By the time the evening is over, you'll be warmed on the inside and out.

If its an after dinner warmer you need, we suggest their Cap.puccino collection serving up mocha, cinnamon, iced and mint with all the incredients for a cozy hat included!

Confessions of a Customer
  Tea Party Invite
Sherri Klein first came to The Dandelion Patch ten years ago. She loved the store. This busy Vienna mom of two girls is active in their school's parent organization and super busy with their activities. In her busy schedule she finds time to be one of our best customers --we see her once per week!

Sherri loves to entertain, and she's found the perfect place card or invitation to set the tone of her occasion. "Erica always comes up with a witty poem and gets the wording just right. I'll come in with the start of an idea and ask, 'can you get this done for me?' and they always, always do."

Sherri even put her love of entertaining on the auction block for a school fundraiser. She offered a Princess Tea Party for auction, and the invitations and some accessories for this outstanding party came from The Dandelion Patch.

"It's so much more than a stationery store, and I don't think people realize that," she quipped during a recent interview.

We realize it, Sherri, and are thrilled to be a part of making both little girls' (and big girls') dreams come true.
